Location: Bok (1901 S 9th Street) Shifts: Wednesday - Sunday, 5pm-2am Experience: 2 years minimum Compensation: Commensurate with experience (hourly plus benefits) ABOUT BOK The iconic Bok Building in South Philadelphia has become a creative hub for innovators, artists, makers, entrepreneurs, community services. Today the 340,000 square foot building is filled with over 200 businesses, makers, creatives, and community services and draws over 250,000 visitors annually to visit events, food & beverage options, and happenings within the building. The scale of the building means there is the ability to accommodate a wide span of users in spaces ranging from 200 square feet to 25,000 square feet. BOK has many types of businesses — ranging from non-profits, bakeries and test kitchens, architects and lawyers, designers and photographers, artists and craftsmen and women, musicians, a hair salon, a pre-school, and a community health clinic. For more information, please visit www.buildingbok.com. POSITION SUMMARY We are looking for a motivated and reliable After Hours Facilities Team Member to join our team in South Philadelphia. This is a vibrant 24-hour building which is home to a seasonal rooftop bar, a year round restaurant, 250+ tenants, and hosts over 300 events per year. Every night will be different and therefore successful applicants must be resourceful, self-motivated, and capable of acting on their feet. This role requires oversight on building maintenance and routine care, and as such requires a background in handy-work of some kind. Basic knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and/or construction experience is required. Daily janitorial duties and ensuring building security are essential functions of this position. Strong preference for individuals located within 5 miles of Bok. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide building upkeep and general care by maintaining a tidy building appearance Completion of daily tasks and work orders Field emergency maintenance requests and problem solve as needed Maintain proper building procedures for security and reporting incidents as they occur using appropriate channels Understand emergency procedures with the ability to clearly communicate problems Provide detailed notes to the Facility Director at the end of every shift REQUIREMENTS Located within 5 miles of Bok. Minimum of 2 years experience with maintenance related to large-scale commercial buildings or a background in construction Demonstrated ability to be self-led and effectively manage workload, ideally in an after hours capacity management Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain a highly professional and calm demeanor at all times, particularly in high pressure and sometimes chaotic environment Ability to communicate in a personable and service-oriented manor — this role requires significant daily contact with our tenants and customer service is key Reliable transportation and cell phone Ability to lift 60lbs, push/pull large carts, climb ladders, and navigate stairs BENEFITS Health and life insurance benefits, 8 paid personal days, 5 paid sick days, and 9 unpaid federal holidaysProfessional references are required.
