Description
There are two sides to every story.
Maybe the guy who posted the original ad is having difficulties with this member of his band and the lack of commitment. They don't always come clean and tell you that they can't commit. Sometimes, that same guy that's having commitment problems, is busily playing with two or more other bands, after telling you he was going to commit to your band. He may be actively looking for another band in doing so.
There are other reasons someone might post the original ad. Maybe that non-committed drummer would not deal well with telling him the truth, so the original poster is trying to get around any conflict as easy as may be possible to do.
There are all manner of reasons that a guy might post something like that. You don't have the full story, so you should refrain from judging him. Also, unless you're the leader of a band and you've worked hard putting the band together for a lot of years and dealt with all the various personalities, you really don't have a full understanding of what takes place behind the scene.
For the guy with the PTSD from playing in a band, you may want to rethink whether you want to play in a band at all. Playing in the band should not give you PTSD.
Bands often change members and or break up. If you don't have the makeup to deal with stuff like this, you might want to go out as a solo artist.
I'm sure you're going enlighten me to The facts of Life here, but I've been at this a very long time, I would venture to say far longer than you have, so you may want to just save your advice.
