Call for Submissions: The Latest Rage

The Latest Rage is a multi-artist collaboration of personal essay, art and memoir, capturing the personal impact of everything from life’s little annoyances to big injustices through the eyes of different artists and writers. Any and all axes are up for grinding, but those with themes of feminism, healing, deconstruction, systemic injustice, pop cultural critique and rebirth are especially welcome. “Do not go gentle into that good night but rage, rage against the dying of the light.” —Dylan Thomas Submission Guidelines The Latest Rage accepts first-person essay, poetry, memoir and original 2D works that tell timely tales through a personal lens. You must be the author/artist of your own work. No catfishing. No plagiarizing. Submitted works must be previously unpublished and/or not subject to copyright. All rights are non-exclusive. Submissions will be posted to The Latest Rage as a newsletter on Substack. This is strictly a collaborative space. (In other words, we don’t pay.) Writing Submissions—Memoir, essay, poetry, critique, etc. -Send writing submissions along with a short bio pasted directly into the message as a reply to this posting. -Preferred length: Not to exceed 3,000 words. -No paragraph indentation. Illustrative poetry may include a link* to PDF. -Include your preferred published name, website, and/or substack profile as part of the submission. 2D Artwork Submissions—Painting, photography, collage, etc. -Please reply to this posting with a link* to 2D artwork and a short bio pasted directly into the message. -Artists are welcome (but not required) to submit an accompanying artist’s statement pasted directly into the email message as well. Preferred length: Not to exceed 1,000 words. -Include your preferred artist name, website, and/or substack profile as part of the submission. *Submissions with attachments will not be opened. Links from trusted sources only: Google Docs, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, etc. Please remember to adjust permissions. The Latest Rage will automatically reject submissions that are inaccessible or sus. On that note, while we would love to respond to every submission we receive, alas, we are human; thus, you will only hear from us in the event that your submission is accepted. Submitted work can be considered automatically declined after the 90 day mark. Thank you in advance for your generosity and patience.
