Weave a bracelet with beads on the edges using a Bow Loom. The Bow Loom is a very simple, “primitive”, portable loom that has been used in Thailand by ethnic groups for hundreds of years to make narrow bands with beads on the edges. The first day, students will warp the loom using a cotton yarn. Students can either make the bracelet a solid color or add stripes. Then begin weaving. The student will take the loom home to work on the weaving. The second day, we will complete the weaving and attach the clasps to make the bracelet.
There will be a break midday. DON"T FORGET TO PACK YOUR LUNCH!
This event accompanies the exhibit Woven Together: Weavers' Guild of Boston Celebrates a Century of Makers, running April 6 – December 31, 2022. Space is limited
