Little Creek Continues our summer “Meet your Farmer” series featuring Hampton Oyster Co of Cutchogue, NY.
From the first day of our founding, we have loved to share the tastes and stories of the many talented oyster farmers we work with. It has been our pleasure to get to know each of them well, learn how they approach their work, what kind of gear they have chosen and why.
This summer we hope you will join us as we bring them ashore for a little face time. Come down and meet the oyster farmers, sample some of their goods and hit them with all of your questions!
Next up in the Meet Your Farmer Series will be Hampton Oyster Co, grower of Mermaid Makeouts and chosen partner to grow our own Little Creeks.
The team at Hampton Oyster utilize a surface grown technique that is producing a remarkably consistent, meaty, hard-shelled oyster that is simply beautiful.
As obvious big fans of anything grown in the Little Creek portion of Hog Neck Bay, we are partial to the taste profile of these oysters. High salinity is a mark of this growing area, and these do not disappoint.
They have quickly grown to a house and crowd favorite.
The Hampton Oyster team will be at Little Creek to answer your questions, talk about what makes their particular oysters unique. They will have some of their gear available to talk about technique.
We will be firing up our classic oyster roast, shucking oysters and pouring Top Water Lager, our new house beer!
