Author & Englewood resident Natalie Beaumont will read from and discuss her new book Memoirs of a House: The Story of a Four-Generation Family Residence at the Englewood Library on Wednesday, July 20, at 7 p.m. in the Englewood Public Library’s Mackay Room. The program will also be on Zoom. The program is free and open to the public. The author will sign copies of her book after the talk. Copies of Memoirs of a House in hardcover will be available for purchase a special price of $25 for the night’s program (cash only). Author Natalie Beaumont (The Short Side of Paradise) has written a book that takes you back to a gentler and kinder time through ancestral stories through four generations of a single family living in a Victorian home in Englewood, New Jersey. The book is filled with charming stories and relevant history, Natalie Beaumont was raised in Englewood, N.J., and graduated high school from the Dwight School for Girls. She received her B.A. in French from St. Lawrence College. After college she worked in St. Luke’s Hospital as a case aide in the Social Services department. It was there that she met her future husband, and soon they moved to California. Her son Anthony was born in 1967, but Natalie was divorced in 1969. She then began teaching English for the adult education program. She soon received her teaching degrees and began teaching at the University of California while simultaneously receiving her master’s degree in Education. After her son was born, Natalie studied voice and became active in the Santa Barbara Playhouse-Plays for Children. In 1989, with her son enrolled at Humboldt State University in California, Natalie returned to Englewood. For many years, Natalie Beaumont was coordinator for the English as a Second Language program (ESL) at Englewood Public Library until her retirement.
