Authors Dr. Mide Adeleye & Bria Jackson are coming to the Silverroom to read (& Sign!) their debut children's book, When I see You - Nia's Trip to the ER. Bring the kids, and enjoy light snacks and beverages for all around family fun. About When I See You: Nia is a young bright 7 year old who loves to explore the world around her! One day she has an accident that takes her to the emergency room. Come with Nia as she navigates the world of the emergency room and learns so much from her doctor, Dr. Adeleye! Dr. Adeleye teaches her and calms Nia down while treating her for her accident. Nia learns that the emergency room doesn’t have to be such a scary place after all! About the Authors: Dr. Mide Adeleye was born in Lagos, Nigeria – and raised in a small suburb outside of Chicago, IL. She remained in Chicago for medical school at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. Today, you can find her taking care of any and everyone in a busy emergency department in Houston, TX. Most importantly, you’ll find Dr. Mide using any opportunity to show kids that medicine is a cool career and one that needs so many different faces and experiences! In her free time, she also enjoys brunching with friends, cuddling her cat, and retweeting relatable tweets. Follow her @MD_Mide. Bria Jackson is from Chicago, IL., where she currently resides. Her journey in the medical field has not been easy, which is why she wants to help people of color to see themselves in all health professions.
