TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River office of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission is closed for the second time due to an employee testing positive for the coronavirus. Motorists who need in-person help with driver's licenses will have to use location in other counties for the time being, as the Toms River licensing center is closed until Jan. 12, motor vehicles officials said. The licensing centers in Eatontown and Freehold were open as of Tuesday evening, according to the state Motor Vehicles Commission website. The employee whose positive test prompted the new closure was last in the office on Monday, motor vehicles officials said. The Toms River facility was closed for two weeks earlier in December following an employee's positive test. It had reopened Dec. 22.
