More details about Saturday’s events can be found below. Lots of PRIZES will be given out over the two-day event, so make sure you find the info booth on the courthouse patio, to enter to WIN! Tickets will be sold to win a day rental for a Pontoon boat at Willow Grove Resort & Marina as well! All musicians are welcome and encouraged to bring their guitars, banjos, and fiddles and play between bands around the square and in the park. Tables with checkerboards will be set around the square and corn hole boards will be up around the park. Bouncy houses and other games for kids will be available along with a variety of food vendors. Bring your lawn chairs, family, and friends and come and hang out with us all day! Bluegrass music will be on the square and Country music will be at Central Park. In addition to the festivities at Central Park and the downtown square, the Overton County Heritage Museum has invited historical societies from surrounding counties to have a booth inside the museum. They will be sharing the history of their respective counties, genealogy, and some will have publications for sale as well. Live music by local musicians will also be performed at the museum. Across the street from the museum, Sons of Confederate and Sons of Union Veterans will be in period costume and will have demonstrations, tell stories, and present articles pertaining to the war. The Overton County Historical Society will also be available to scan old family photos and documents to share in a new publication they have planned. These pictures will be scanned on-site while you wait. Enjoy the weekend learning about Livingston & Overton County heritage! There will be lots of demonstrations on how things were done years ago, with many artists, crafters, woodworkers, antique dealers, and much more! It was loved by many, and people would come from all over the state of Tennessee to see it and to listen to live music, learn about the history of Overton County, and participate in all of the different activities. Pioneer Days holds a special place in many peoples’ hearts due to the connections that were made, and the wonderful memories (and delicious jams and jellies) people took home with them. We are so pleased to be bringing it back this summer on July 15th &16th thanks to the new Pioneer Days Committee, Overton County Heritage Museum, and Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce. After 20 years, Pioneer Days returns with many activities and tons of live music planned for the two-day event that will be held around the square, Central Park, and Overton County Heritage Museum. Besides skilled artisans and crafters, who will be demonstrating and selling their handmade items, activities for children and two music stages will be set up to cater to both Bluegrass and Country music each day. Everyone is welcome! Don’t forget to bring your lawn chair, family, and friends! We’ll see you there! For more info, visit: www.centralparklivingston.com
