Teenagers are growing up in a topsy-turvy world. Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, they are still dependent on their family, yet seek independence. This parenting workshop allows parents to learn from experts, and each other, best ways to navigate these unique and sometimes stressful times. We'll dive deep into what teens are going through in today's world and share how to best connect with them in this important stage of life. The interactive workshop is perfect for parents of pre-teens, teens, and young adults. Topics: Understanding the Grade Level Milestones. We will share resources covering the milestones your students can reach for as they move through each school year. You’ll receive a handout that will serve as a guide for both you and your student as they move closer to graduation. Apps to Help Teens Stay Organized. Kids are glued to their phones anyway so why not take advantage of that? We’ll be sharing Apps and tools to teach your teen ways to organize their schedule, and schoolwork right on their own phones. Keeping the Teen / Parent Communication Lines Open. With the new school, comes a flurry of activity and that can put on a strain on communication between you and your teens. You will take away a toolbox of tips and tricks for getting and keeping those communication lines open. Helping Your Teen Manage the Stress of a New School Year. The transition into a new school year can be a highly stressful time for both teens and their parents. Between sports, extracurricular activities, and schoolwork, the pressures can be overwhelming.
