Hello there, Do you find yourself singing along to the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, the Smiths, or Belle & Sebastian? Do you have a love of indie pop, jangle guitars, and cardigans? Do you play and write songs, and want to play music with others? Maybe you should come and sing with us! We are looking for a lead singer for our indie pop, jangle pop, shoegaze, type band. We are a four piece with some vocals but really need someone to take on the main singing duties to bring our songs together. You should be comfortable working with a band, coming up with ideas, and most of all singing. Quality of voice is not as important as knowing the style and making it work. You should be familiar with indie pop, shoegaze, twee, jangle, strum & thrum, Sarah Records, etc. Think the Smiths, Belle & Sebastian, Stereo Lab, Jesus and Mary Chain, the Field Mice, Slowdive, Alvvays, Au Revoir Simone, the Kinks, Sonic Youth, the Jam, Veronica Falls, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Joy Division, New Order, Radiohead, etc. Sorry no covers, blues, metal, or angsty crap. It'd be cool if you play some guitar, trumpet, strings or other instruments, and can contribute to the overall songwriting!
