Rush Locates is looking to hire a Private Utility Locator to join our small team. We are based in SE Portland, ideally we would like a candidate from around the area so they don't have a long commute to work. Work starts about 7:30 and we are usually done between 2-4pm, if you want more work that can also be arranged. A clean driving record is a must, experience locating utilities is a plus. You would come to the shop each morning to get the tools needed for that day then go out to jobs around town. We offer: * a small raise every month, we want to keep you happy * paid time off * sick time * 401k matching Cons: * lots of driving around town to different job sites * working in all types of weather * having to climb into crawlspaces with tools to investigate utilities and do locating It takes months to train someone with no experience so we would prefer someone who has done line locating, GPR, or sewer scopes before. If you don't like being stuck in the same room all day doing the same thing, and like being outside and problem solving then this could be a good fit for you. Work can be somewhat physical at times, we need to carry tools onto roofs and into crawlspaces and then use the tools there. If you understand science and physics then the training will make a lot more sense and most of the tools operate on principles of electromagnetism. We are willing to train the right person.
