PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER MON-FRI 7a-4p $18/hr Duties and Responsibilities: Working to maintain City Parks and Grounds and general area Calibrate fertilizer application equipment, boom sprayers and similar pesticide application equipment; make fertilizer and pesticide application to trees, shrubs or turf areas. Perform turf aeration, overseeding and top dressing. Prune and transplant trees and shrubs Clean and maintain sprinkler heads(including disassembling and assembling sprinkler heads) Operate equipment - mowers, trimmers, and chain saws Layout and set up athletic fields Complete such records as pesticide application records and athletic field maintenance Clean and maintain restrooms and other park facilities Perform routine playground safety inspections Note and report street problems, such as potholes, cracks and sign damage Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge of repair, maintenance, construction and installation preferred Ability to safely drive and operate vehicles, equipment, machine and tools Work independently Read and understand maps, plans, drawings and orders Landscape experience a plus Frequent repetitive motions including, but not limited to, hand, wrist and finger movements. Daily walking, reaching, standing, talking, hearing and seeing. Heavy Physical Work: Must be able to move objects by exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force consistently. Job Details: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm (with hour lunch) $18.00/hr
