Fox Trail Senior Living is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the physical look and mechanical operation of the building, both inside and out in our community. Roles and Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair problems in such areas as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, and waste management systems. Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating and equipment/supply standards and in a safe and timely manner. Perform turn-key work as required to ensure vacant units are ready in a timely manner. Complete monthly spend-downs to ensure department adheres to monthly budget. Ensure all work orders are addressed within one (1) business day Keep current fire plan, evacuation plans, disaster plans, OSHA logs, and SDS (formerly MSDS) Perform general maintenance responisiblities including, but not limited to, light construction, appliance maintenance, and painting Required Skills and Experience: A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to all of our NJ homes High school graduate or GED Previous health care setting experience preferred Certification/License as required by Federal, State and local requirements Must have working of wiring, plumbing, painting, and HVAC systems. Ability to move freely about, stoop, kneel and reach, and lift or push up to 75 lbs. Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience in customer service and hospitality a plus. Willingness to work weekends and holidays and on call as required. Physical Demands: You must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of position can be fully met. You may experience possible exposure to such as unpleasant sights, odors, and difficult interpersonal situations. There is a potential for injury and exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases. There are stresses associated with working in a long- term care environment that include, but are not limited to, shift rotation, unusual or impaired behavior by Elders, family reactions to having a loved one in the home, death and dying, oversight of State surveyors, Ombudsmen and Federal officials, presence of consultants and Attorneys, and variable involvement of medical staff.
