JOB STATEMENT/PURPOSE:
The Grounds Maintenance worker provides manual and skilled labor to maintain the golf
course’s turf, facilities, cart paths, and structures (including the general care and upkeep).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Landscaping, cultivating lawns, or pruning trees and shrubs.
- Cares for the putting greens and tees by watering, reseeding, manicuring,
topdressing and mowing using specialized (walking and riding) equipment.
- Cares for sand traps, fairways, and roughs by raking, watering, edging, spiking,
aerifying, weeding, and manicuring.
- Cares for ornamental plantings around golf course facilities and structures.
- Performs custodial work such as removing trash and leaves from the course and
around facilities and structures.
- Operate machinery such as greens mowers, sand trap rakes and other equipment
in a safe and careful manner.
- Maintain driving range facility.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Ability to work under varied climatic conditions
-Ability to provide courteous service to the general public
-Ability to work well with others
-Valid Alaska driver’s license
