However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. • Adheres to and assures compliance with Code of Conduct, facility policies • Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas. • Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials. • Ensure that the facility and its equipment is properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience. • Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible. • Follow established safety precautions • Perform routine maintenance on grounds, • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility • Clean windows and screens as directed. Education and Experience • High school diploma is preferred, but not necessary Other Specific Requirements • Must be able to write, read, speak, and understand the English language. • Must possess the ability to follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism. • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, tools, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas. • Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning. WORK ENVIRONMENT • Works in all areas of the facility. • Is subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule maintenance activities. • Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. • Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): • Must be able to move continuously throughout the work day. • Must be able to cope with the mental emotional and stress of the position. • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively.
