Help with Dog Training

This is Audie, I got her about 4 months old. I wasn't looking to get another dog. My children's father got her and attempted using her to get to my animal loving side. However, I left and wasn't going back. He is an abuser. When he was arrested and she was left in the home and no one to get her or take her in, I ended up taking her home. He wasnt getting out anytime soon. My kids knew where the dog came from and didn't have the heart to find her a home because this was the only connection to their father. However, she wasn't socialized at the prime age, she was around an intense person, and crated most of the time. She attached quickly to the kids and I. Became protective quickly. She is a loving, sweet, and playful dog in the home. Outside of the home, some training has helped her be better at a distance to instinctual triggers or fear based triggers but she has been let out by accident by the kids and has bit someone. When she gets out, instincts take over if she sees moving things or people. She will chase. I work with her on leash but i'm not an expert or can I do this on my own. Audie has a lot of potential to control her impulse, face her fear, and live a happy dog life. I can't afford to spend a lot on training but I am trying to. If anyone knows anyone who can help, feel free to reach out. I can't take her to a shelter or rehome her. I am her only option and I have to find a solution.
