Found Black American bulldog in my backyard

What looks like an American bulldog found its way to my backyard and it doesn't have any tags. I called the animal shelter but they are not picking up stray dogs. I really don't know what to do with it. If anyone is interested in picking it up or if anyone knows the owners please let me know. I’m near Vermont and 54th St.
