Description

Zero Waste Washington and Food Lifeline are looking for volunteers to help us spruce up furniture at a 3-day event coming up next weekend. At this fun event, we are cleaning and fixing up donated furniture (such as tables, chairs, bureaus, etc.), which will in turn be given to refugee families who have recently arrived in Washington. WHAT YOU WILL DO: We need help sponging down furniture, helping unscrew chairs (so the seats can be recovered with new fabric), sanding wooden chairs and tables, and other similar tasks. No experience is needed! You will work in teams with other volunteers and with staff members. SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Friday, July 15: 12-3 pm or 3-6 pm Saturday, July 16: 12-3 pm or 3-6 pm Monday, July 18: 12-3 pm or 3-6 pm LOCATION: Food Lifeline (in South Park, just a few minutes from 509). IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE IN THE FUN: Please rsvp by emailing Heather. And I will send you more info about the event. ABOUT US: Zero Waste Washington works to make trash obsolete by working with community members on on-the-ground activities and helping get policies changed to reduce waste and improve recycling and composting. Food Lifeline works to solve hunger by providing food to more than 350 food banks, shelters, and meal programs across Western Washington. THANK YOU! For helping keep furniture out of the landfill and providing quality furniture to families in need.
