Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Professional Environmental Engineers, Inc. (PE) is a full-service environmental consulting firm that specializes in providing cost-effective environmental solutions for both government and commercial clientele. PE is seeking a full time Environmental Scientist to add to the Field Services Division in our Chicago Office. The ideal candidate will meet all of the minimum requirements listed below. PE is seeking a dynamic individual capable of providing perimeter air monitoring services at a remediation site in Hillsboro/Litchfield, Illinois. RESPONSIBILITIES · Calibrating hand-held and stationary air monitoring equipment, · Maintaining time-integrated sampling units, · Collecting perimeter air samples, · Completing field sheets, and · Preparing samples for shipment to the laboratory MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree is a plus Between 1 to 6 years of related work experience with an emphasis on air monitoring. Computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe Professional Strong technical writing skills Strong communication and inter-personal skills to provide effective intra and inter-discipline coordination on projects, as well as effective communication with clients and vendors. Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others and have the ability/desire to lead tasks. · Proficiency in computer software programs, particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. · Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. · OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER and current 8-hr Refresher.
