Spend an engaging hour with local artist, DJ and performer, Bryan Hancock, as we learn how to look within and bring our thoughts, visions, passions and feelings to others through our words. Hancock owns Soul Sessions Roanoke - an open space for one to let their soul be free and their voice be heard through open mic poetry. Soul Sessions is housed inside Verses Roanoke, located at 114 Kirk Ave. Though this workshop is open to anyone, it is designed to feed directly into a Soul Sessions event on July 27 titled "Coming Clean: a night for recovery." If you are in recovery or have been affected by addiction in any way, we strongly encourage you to attend this workshop. Please be aware that these topics will come up during the session. You are not obligated to speak at the Soul Sessions event, but we will support you if you decide to share your voice. This workshop and the Soul Sessions event are a collaboration between Soul Sessions Roanoke, (www.facebook.com/soulsessionsroanoke) and the Prevention Council of Roanoke (www.roanokeprevention.org).
