Cultural charity event FREEDOM FOR UKRAINE AND BELARUS with participation of incredible Margarita Levchuk (soprano) accompanied by Lyena Atonyicq (piano) will take place at 5:00 pm on Sunday, July 24th, at the Noe Valley Ministry (1021 Sanchez St., San Francisco, CA 94114) Margarita Levchuk is coming to San Francisco as a special guest at Belarusian Cultural Week 2022 with an exceptional program of Belarusian classical and folk music, as well as a few Ukrainian compositions. Connecting with our communities today is more important than ever, so we truly hope that our cultural charity event will bring Belarusian, Ukrainian, and American communities together, help to raise awareness of Belarusian defenders in Ukraine, and just bring joy to all music lovers. Suggested donations start at $50. All proceeds from the event will be allocated to the Belarusian Defenders of Ukraine. Auction with the Belarus and Ukraine themed items will be hosted at the event! Dress code: White-red-white and yellow-blue colors and clothes with traditional elements are welcome! ARTISTS’ BIOSMARGARITA LEVCHUK, Soprano Margarita Levchuk is a Belarusian opera singer (soprano), theatre and cinema actress, political activist and blogger. Margarita is one of the brightest and most famous opera singers in Belarus who performed on stages of the leading European opera houses. Her repertoire includes Queen of the Night ("Die Zauberflöte"), Norina ("Don Pasquale"), Violetta ("La Traviata") and Cunegonde ("Candide"). In 2020, Margarita supported Belarusian national leader Sviatlana Tikhanouskaya election campaign and was active at peaceful protests and musical flashmobs in Minsk. Due to her express opposition to dictatorship regime and personal safety concerns, Margarita Levchuk had to flee Belarus. Currently, she resides in Lithuania. Margarita consistently and actively participates in various cultural and political events in order to promote art protest globally and support fight for democracy in Belarus and freedom of Ukraine. LYENA ATONYICQ, Piano Lyena Atonyicq is an exceptional musician attracting international attention with a unique style unrivaled anywhere in the world. A consummate pianist, Lyena has performed successfully across the U.S. and Europe, garnering rave reviews and fans of her fluid and graceful style. Born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine, Lyena holds three master’s degrees: two in piano performance from the Tchaikovsky Music Conservatory and New Jersey’s Rowan University, plus a double master’s degree in opera coaching and chamber music from Temple University in Philadelphia. She has been studying with such internationally acclaimed pianists as Tatiana Verkina, Boris Fedorov, Boris Petrushansky, Naum Schtarkman, and Veda Zuponcic. Among her competition awards are top prizes in the International Piano Competition in Athens, Greece, as well as in the MTNA National Piano Competition, NJMTNA Piano competition, and the International piano competition in Washington DC, where as a first prize winner she performed a solo recital in the United States State Department. Appealing to listeners everywhere, Lyena Atonyicq continues to expand her fan base as an international musician with a versatile exceptional flair. Her thriving career takes her to many important music venues worldwide including Europe and the United States. Lyena is in high demand in the Philadelphia area where she resides, as well as in New York City. Lyena Atonyicq is well-known in both cities in her roles as both a concert pianist and an opera coach, where she is often invited as an expert on Russian music. As a founder of Artomya, Lyena and her team also provide innovative piano lessons to help with trauma healing and brain development.
