Green Hope Project is raising money to bring Bordalo II, world-renowned recyled art muralist, from Portugal to create a 58 foot mural downtown at the ONE San Jacinto Plaza bulding, across from the Plaza. The mural will depict a species of greatest conservation need from Texas, the mountain lion, in hopes to raise awareness about the plight of animals in our state. In an effort to fund the remainder of this project, we will have a family friendly morning on August 6th form 10am-2pm at the Alamo Drafthouse on the West Side. We will begin the morning with art vendors on the patio, ready to show off and sell their handmade goods. We will also have informational booths from local wildlife rehabilitaors, with animals for educational purposes. You will also have a chance to bid on artwork, certficates, and serveal other items donated by local business and artists. After you've had a chance to shop around, bid on some auction items and pet some cute animals, you will make your way to the theater, where we will screen the incredibly BEAUTIFUL film, Deep in the Heart: A Texas Wildlife Story. Narrated by Matthew McConaughey, the film aims to conserve our remaining wild places, to show the connectivity of water and wildlife, and to recognize Texas’ conservation importance on a continental scale. We will end the fundraiser by announcing the winners of the auction. Some very lucky individuals will go home with some amazing swag and beautiful artwork!
