fascinating history Symposium to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the 1847 Mormon Trail across Nebraska. This two-day symposium, to be held August 18-19 at the Mormon Trail Center at 3215 State Street in north Omaha (formerly Florence/Winter Quarters), is free and open to the public. Sessions will include such speakers as Elder Kyle McKay, Church Historian of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Aaron Mahr of the National Park Service, Bill Hill, well known scholar of the Oregon, California and Mormon Trails, and participants from Historical Societies all along the Mormon Trail in Nebraska. Blair Buswell, a primary sculptor of the famous Sculpture Park in downtown Omaha, will be a featured speaker. Many other artists and authors whose works have ties to the trail, will also be participating. Please share this information will all that may have an interest.
