This is Bodhi! Shelter has just given notice that they will euthanize tomorrow 7/11 5pm Why? Because he is stressed and doesn't want to go back to kennel! He hasn't even been given a chance! He arrived 7/4 and has just been given a euthanasia date of 7/11 5pm! Barely one day notice! This is not fair! He is scared and confused in the shelter! Like so many others found as stray on 7/4! During his capture he gave no issues, he approached cautiously, low to ground, started to tail wag, allow leash placement and walked to truck! Upon arrival at shelter he had a soft wiggly body and excitedly jumped on hander, he walked to his small kennel on leash. He is deteriorating fast and needs out now! Bodhi is not handling the shelter well at all, he is so scared and stressed and really needs out! A few days later he is now panting, salivating and hurting himself in his kennel, his back nails or bleeding. They did give him another short break from his kennel, he once again was easy to leash and eagerly came out of kennel, ; in the yard He explored and was affiliative with new people and staff, he leaned into all petting; Once back in kennel he began to heavily panting again. Sadly he is now showing even more signs of stress! He just can't handle this environment; During his last outing he did bite at leash (common stress behavior) and jumped up staff and nip at the treat pack..(must smell yummy) He once again did not want to go back to that loud scary kennel and let them know it! Bodhi will need time to adjust and shake off the all this stress! Probably best if no small kiddos and would need to be initially kept separate from other dogs until a slow and safe intro can be done! This young pup just needs the opportunity to know he has nothing to be scared of. He deserves to know what love is!
