FFUUUU**CCCKKKKK! So, recently on the reddit Santa Fe thread someone asked if there was a punk scene here. I quickly posted that I was tired of telling people that there wasn't a punk scene here to be found (I'd love to be wrong) and asked the OP to contact me and I would see to it that we got one started. Well, nothing came of that, but it got me thinking, and that's always dangerous. So here I am, seeing if there might be interest in forming some type of musical assault on this retirement community. I play guitar, sing and write material. I'm hoping to get something going along the lines of DC5, the Stooges, Velvet Underground, early Eno / Roxy Music, David Bowie, New York Dolls, the Sonics, Pavement, the Replacements, etc. I'd also like to be a little dark (think early Bauhaus, Cure and that first wave of punk influenced goth stuff) but that's not really required. I'm thinking at least drums and bass to start, but I'm looking for anything. You wanna play punk tuba?? Email me and lets do it. We can be the Sigur Ros of punk. I can arrange just about anything into a musical format if you can play notes. Also, this is going to be a democracy band so don't think you can't change things at any point. We're just trying to see where we could go. About me?? I'm older and lets just say I started playing in bands last century. I got started knowing a few Bowie tunes and playing a tele so hard I would regularly cut my fingers up, but the music didn't exactly always match that intensity. Yes, I have equipment (although no PA to speak of yet). I'm very willing to join an existing project in any roll (I also do keys and evil synth stuff). I can provide us a place to start working, but it won't hold us once we are a full band. So, if you have some of your own gear, transportation and a desire to mess some stuff up around here, get in touch with me and let's see what happens.
