I have a half acre lot that is constantly needing work. I'm hoping to find a student who is interested in going into the gardening or landscaping profession to gain some knowledge of the field here at my home. I've had some ill health and it makes doing all the work myself more difficult. So I need to have someone who can learn to cut grass, edge. weed, work in a 50x16 foot veggie garden, We use landscape cloth and mulch so the weeding is minimal. Also need to have some pruning, painting and basically keeping the yard looking good. We have a 10x12 greenhouse that needs to be tended along with the contents. We use it to grow seedlings and carry over veggies for the next year. So there is quite a bit of work and it can be done at negotiated times and days. It can be done around school and sports if you have that going on. We hope you may live close so it's not a burden to drive or cycle a distance to do the work. We are near Andresen and Highway 14 We also need a person who is interested in handyman work like lite electrical or plumbing or irrigation repair or painting of the few parts of the brick house that needs painting. This can be the same person and we will work with you to give you guidance as an apprentice. It's a great way to learn skills that you will need for your own place some day. Notice the zip code. We particularly want a school age student or recent grad, as that's how I got my start in this field and hope I can return the favor for someone who's interested in this kind of work. Pay it forward. We will offer training on the use of various equipment so you need no special talents or tools or equipment. Just the interest in this field. We're not looking for an employee actually but more of a person devoted to the land who likes to work with their hands. Personal references will be needed. We will negotiate pay and increases and special fees and even some schooling if we get that far with this learning experience. The last person who worked with us, worked from school age to 40 years old. He's now a maintenance supervisor at an apartment house. We're not expecting that but just as an example - we are good to work for or with.
