found dead black cat

Hello, this morning my roommate found a young adult short haired black cat dead by our house. From markings in the street and the state of their body, it looks like the poor guy got run over on 11th street, in Western Jefferson. Animal control and epd were called, but they cannot come until tomorrow. Epd suggested we put them in the garbage, but we know this cat is someone’s baby and getting rid of the body like that feels very insensitive. So, the body is where it was found, on a grassy patch by the sidewalk, but is now covered up and has a little sign attached. We are so sorry to whoever out there loves this cat and will miss them so much. My roommate who found the body was very shaken up by it and we are doing the best we can to help with this very sad situation :,(
