Can you take us fishing or fix our boat engine?

Description

Imagine being 70+ years old, having worked hard your entire life, providing for your family, having no time for hobbies. After years of waiting, finally you buy a used boat and spend weeks fixing it up and preparing to go salmon fishing. You and your daughter get up at 5 am, drive to the boat launch, get in the water, and…the engine won’t start. That’s what happened to my dad and I this week. It was a crushing disappointment. We’re now working on getting the engine fixed but it will most likely not be ready in time to catch the end of the salmon season. So I’m making this post in the hope that someone with a boat would be willing to take me and my dad out fishing next weekend (ideally, early Sunday morning, July 17) for a couple hours off Ediz Hook in Port Angeles. I can offer you $100 cash for your help. I know it’s not much, but it’s better than nothing, and you’d definitely be doing your good deed for the day! We have licenses and rods but not a lot of experience so we’d love to learn from you. You could pass on your skills and help out a couple decent, hardworking people. If you’d like to help us out, please respond via email. Thank you. Also, if you are someone who is very familiar with marine engines and could come to my dad’s home in Sequim sometime this week or next week and help him figure out what’s wrong with his boat engine, please respond, and let me know what experience you have and your hourly rate. Thanks again. (The boat is a 1976 Bell Buoy, 20 ft, GMC Straight 6 engine.)
