Urban Spaceship is a civic program and annual conference that explores the intersection of planning, architecture, housing, development, transportation, placemaking, government, economic development, historic preservation, construction, and design. Urban Spaceship is brought to you by Greenfire. Each show deep dives into inspiring ideas to make Milwaukee a more human-centered and sustainably developed city as we rethink and reframe urbanism's foundation and function in our region. In this upcoming show, Michael, Montavius, and Jeremy will talk about... 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm: Urbanist Networking / Meet & Greet / Bitch about Streets / Refreshments 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm: Urban Spaceship Live Show 1st Segment 15 minutes: "What caught our eye in urbanism." The Urban Spaceship team talks about recent headlines from around the city. 2nd Segment 15 minutes: "What they got right, what they got wrong" Michaels Development This show will focus on the Michael's Development. The Urban Spaceship hosts dissect a recent development and talk about the good, bad and ugly. 3rd Segment 15 minutes: "Project Spotlight" Milwaukee's Downtown Plan. The Urban Spaceship Team will sit down with TKWA's Chris Socha, who drives Milwaukee's downtown future plan. 4th Segment 15 minutes: "Deep Data Dive" Midtown Center Michael Bradley dives deep into a focus area around Milwaukee. Our focus for this show will be the Midtown Center and what's next. The Closing: We always end the show by bitching about the I94 freeway expansion and urbanism open mic. If we have time, any community member can get up and talk about what they are building or want to bring attention to. 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm: More discussion, networking, and plans for what to do next.
