After 8 years with the FAU Department of Regional and Urban Planning (DURP), Dr. Steven Bourassa is leaving sunny South Florida to become of Chair of the Runstad Department of Real Estate at the University of Washington in Seattle. His new department is part of the UW’s College of Built Environments which also houses their Departments of Urban Design and Planning, Architecture, Construction Management, and Landscape Architecture). His last day at FAU will be Friday, August 5th. Since many Treasure Coast Section members are graduates of FAU’s planning programs and/or have worked with the program’s internship, mentorship, and other programs over the years, we wanted to give those of you an opportunity to wish Steven “bon voyage” on his journey to the other side of the country! The Treasure Coast Section Executive Board will hold its Summer Board Meeting in the upstairs meeting room at the Stadium Grill from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Please join us any time between 6:30 and 8:00 pm to help us recognize his contributions to the planning community in our region. Light appetizers and a cash bar will be available.
