Description

I’m possibly looking to rehome my amazing (fixed) 2 year old lab x grayhound. I love him so much and what’s most important to me is finding him a home where he will be loved forever. He came in as a stray from Kansas, and then was briefly in a home before going to a shelter. I got him and we’ve made amazing progress. He’s had professional obedience training and even started service dog training but I’ve hit a really rough point and we weren’t able to continue it. He’s an amazing dog. He’s so cute and silly. He loves to do things to make you laugh like pretending to get lost in the sheet when you make the bed. He loves playing in the sprinklers and with the hose and absolutely looses his mind if we don’t let him out while the gardens being watered. He has the cutest curly tail and floppy ears. He really is my best friend and I know he could be someone else’s too. He needs a good firm hand and consistent work with training- he’s still a baby and tends to get into the trash, the dishes in the sink, and occasionally tries to dig a hole in the yard. Not to escape, but for fun. He is completely kennel trained, and house broke. Until two months ago we lived in an apartment so he knows how to go out to go potty and walks great on the leash- but if he sees a squirrel or another dog he will get excited. Like I said, consistent training will pay off. I want to see him go to someone that will love him and be willing to work with him. He’s not a dog you can get and never work with. He has an e-collar and has been trained with it but like any young energetic dog he’s not for the faint of heart. He is a little weird with other dogs and people food-most likely from being a stray. If you’re eating he will resource guard with other dogs and cats. I’ve been making him lay on his mat while I eat so it’s not an issue. He has a “place” command where he has to stay on his mat or bed until told otherwise. He’s pretty good at it, so it comes in handy. Otherwise, he’s great with dogs at the dog park and loves roughhousing with them. I think he would do best as an only dog with visits to the park as he may overwhelm a cat or dog :) he REALLY loves to play. Please feel free to text me and ask me anything you’d like. I’ll be happy to meet up with you and let you meet him. I want to make sure he’s happy
