The last cake walk I can remember was in middle school at a game night fundraiser in 2004. Its about time that changes. In order to participate, please bring a cake!! Each cake will count as one entrance to the cake walk. A path of numbered squares will be set in a circle on the ground. The participants will walk around the circle as music plays (similar to musical chairs). When the music stops, a number is drawn at random and called out, and the person standing on that number wins their choice of cake as a prize. The same will repeat until all of the cakes are claimed! This event will be part of the “Mindful Marketplace” from 10 am - 5 pm, located at Ant Life, 2150 Market St, Denver, CO 80205 in downtown Denver. This marketplace is free to attend, and the vendors are each intentionally chosen for their contributions to the local community and for their mindful practices. The event plans to host 30+ local vendors, breakout discussion sessions, mycology supplies, psychedelic art, tarot readings, a cake walk, and more! There will be NO illicit substance sales permitted at this event whatsoever. In addition to the marketplace, the Psychedelic Club will be holding a silent auction. Items auctioned are donations from local vendors and community members, and all proceeds will benefit the harm reduction and education services provided by the Psychedelic Club of Denver. The marketplace and silent auction are free for the public to attend! This will be an excellent opportunity to find resources for at-home mycology projects, gifts for loved ones, and special trinkets for yourself!
