Description

As 38 years of outstanding stewardship of this Lawrence landmark by Dennis and Judy Dailey come to a close, now is the perfect time for us to gather and deepen our understanding of the Miller House during the Underground Railroad, Quantrill's Raid, and ever since. During this outdoor event, Dennis Dailey and Embattled Lawrence book series editor Dennis Domer will share history and insights about this fascinating, significant urban farmstead. The program will feature a talk followed by a 30-45 minute outside walking tour of the Miller House grounds. Part of the Structure and Story series, a partnership between the Lawrence Preservation Alliance and the Watkins Museum of History. Qualify for discount tickets by becoming a Watkins member. Parking will be available in the lot between the Haskell Avenue strip mall and the Miller House. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Part of Civil War on the Border, Douglas County's largest annual history festival!
