What to expect (in Person) Perhaps you're looking into starting a career in the birthing industry? Collectively we will bring over 80+ years of wisdom and national and international experience to the table for prospective, or seasoned Doulas and Midwives. The weekend event will address many layers of hands-on intensive training ( or join virtually) from the perspective of working in the birthing industry for over 40+ years, we will prepare you to work with Best Practices Skills as a Doula / Birth Assistant. This live hands-on workshop is great for those interested in expanding their skills, we will share real-life experience stories and the lessons we learned in the field. Maybe you're interested in understanding what is required to be an effective member of a birth team, or for those looking to become a professional Doula or Midwifery Assistant and beyond. Modeling, debriefing, shadowing, and doing births goes to the core of who you are becoming and how you are serving your fellow human being. Credits of Certified births as a Doula / Midwifery assistant provides credits towards your certifications. Your investment can be credited toward the certification with the one-year program when you apply to our Doula Family Certification Program. The midwifery program requires a minimum of 30 hours of Doula Skills Training, we have over 30+ hours of content included in our one-year program of continued layers of education within our Birth and Postpartum Doula Training. She’s an international speaker and gentle birth advocate, currently serving as chair of Birth Matters (a homebirth awareness and advocacy collective) and president and founding member of W.A.R.M. (Washington Alliance for Responsible Midwifery). She teaches and practices Classical Midwifery, a philosophy that incorporates empirical, traditional ways of preparing women for birth. She acknowledges and respects the spirit, soul, and body of mama babies during the profound process of birth.
