Description

Hulk is my ex-husband's dream dog: he loved him like his own child. Unfortunately, in the past months, my ex-husband and I are getting divorced and he has fallen back into addiction, which means he is unable to care for Hulk. We have a daughter who is almost two; I am the sole responsible parent to care for her. While Hulk is a sweet and loving dog, it is too much for me to manage to care for him and our daughter. I cannot give him the time and attention he wants or needs. I am looking for someone who will take him in and love him like we did. Hulk is a good dog but not an easy dog to have as a pet. He is a neutered 130 lb French Mastiff. He can be nervous in new situations and especially around new dogs. He has some leash reactivity, although we've worked with a behaviorist to overcome these challenges. We use a Herm Sprenger collar on him for walks, which helps give him the feedback he needs to make the best choices. He is fairly well trained but a stubborn guy who can forget how big he is. I would love to find someone who has experience working with big dogs and knows how to give Hulk the leadership he needs with love and tenderness. He is a big oaf sometimes but he also has a big tender heart. He hasn’t lived with other dogs but with some adjustment, I imagine he would come around. He is gentle and comfortable with our daughter. Diet: Hulk struggled with skin allergies for much of his life until we switched him to a raw diet in January. It’s pretty easy to prepare and I can teach you how to do it. Costs about what it would cost to give him high-end dog food. Please reach out with serious inquiries. Trying to find him a new home ASAP.
