Female: Labrador Retriever/ Great Pyrenees mix; 8 years, 2 months Tootsie is such a calm, mannerly and mellow lady. And so friendly and gentle - with people and furry friends. Now in foster, she's living with several kids, from small to teenagers, and has had fun hanging out at a lake with them. She's also living nicely with several dogs and cats, and she's friendly with visiting people. Her preference is being with her foster parents, lounging next to them and happy to get some of their attention. This sweet girl loves going for walks and now gets to go two and three miles a day. She's a great walker both on and off leash, staying with her people and never chasing any other animals. Back home, she's very happy to receive snacks. Open the refrigerator and she'll become your best friend. But she's very well-mannered and never jumps up for a treat. She's house-trained and is fine in a crate. But when her fosters are gone, she nicely free roams the house, just finding a couch or dog bed for snoozing, or stays in the yard or dog run. Tootsie will be a great companion for an older couple, with or without grandkids. She'll love to go with them on walks and trips to the Dairy Queen, and she'll be happy to stroll through stores with them. She is heartworm positive, but all that means is that she'll need a couple of months of rest during treatment, at APA!'s expense.
