DEARBORN, MI — A Dearborn man is in trouble after police said he attacked officers during a traffic stop in Dearborn Heights on Monday, according to a report from WDIV.
Hassan Hamadi, 24, was charged with assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer causing injury and two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, the report said.
The first charge is a four-year felony, and the other two charges are two-year felonies.
Three other people who were present during the attack were issued citations and released after being booked, the report said.
Dearborn Heights Police said they received a call about a man threatening employees, referencing he had a gun at a business on the 23000 block of Ford Road, the report said.
As officers arrived, they saw a group of men leaving the business in a car, so they stopped the vehicle, the report said.
Officers told the men to get out of the car, in which three did but not the driver, the report said.
As officers used force to drag the Hamadi out of the car, he headbutted an officer, causing that officer to require stitches in his head. The officer also suffered a concussion in the attack, the report said.
Hamadi also charged other officers before they finally arrested him, the report said. Police also found a black CO2 pistol resembling a semi-automatic handgun, police said.
