July 8, Stoneham, MA -Today, Republican Congressional candidate (MA District 5) Caroline Colarusso brought Massachusetts voters' attention to the fact that the Biden administration sold 5 million barrels of oil from America's Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to Communist China and European countries this week. "These oil reserves were diverted from U.S. refineries," said Colarusso. "This administration's policies are bankrupting many American households, including here in the Commonwealth, and placing our country in danger." "The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is rooted in our national security, intended for our energy independence in case of disruption of our energy supplies. It's a vital American asset. Depleting it to sell oil to China makes our country and people vulnerable--our domestic supplies are reduced while demand increases," she pointed out. Colarusso also said, "I can't help but notice that Congresswoman Katherine Clark has remained silent as China consumes precious American oil while Massachusetts citizens pay almost $5 a gallon at the gas pump."
