For everyone blaming their landlord for the reason for rehoming. Did your read your lease? Or, at the very least, speak with your housing manager, landlord or owner of the property before making a commitment to have a pet in the first place? This is totally irresponsible and avoidable. Your pet clause should be in any lease you sign. Some allow no pets, some, only certain pets, certain weights and, with dogs, certain breeds. Then, you will likely pay a non refundable pet deposit or, in some cases, pet rent. Let's do better. Read the lease before getting a pet only to rehome it months later. Can't afford the pet deposit? Wait until you can. Simple.
