Bassist Looking to Create Acoustic

Description

Anyone out there interested in forming a “mostly acoustic” duo? I’m looking for a guitarist who mainly plays acoustic guitar (could be amplified with effects, etc, 12-string would be awesome!) and loves to sing. Ideally, you would be a seasoned professional, a very good guitar player, with wide-ranging and eclectic musical tastes. The goal of this collaboration would be to play out at coffee shops, restaurants, wine bars, parties, and wherever else there is a discerning audience. What would we play? That is the question. I think the answer will only arise out of us playing together and seeing what works. I envision everything from jazz/R&B/folk/world music/classic rock with a unique, original interpretation, instrumental and/or with tight vocal harmonies. Really, the sky’s the limit. I love music that contains elements of humor and story-telling and the ultimate goal is to entertain. I’ve got lots of ideas about music/songs we might explore, but I’d rather see what arises naturally. About me: I play 4, 5 and 6-string basses, fretted and fretless, but one of my favorite instruments, and the one I would use primarily for this collaboration, is an electric acoustic 5-string bass which I tune E-A-D-G-C. So, yes, I amplify it and use effects, but it still sounds and plays like an acoustic. I play a lot of different styles, but love to use arpeggios and finger-picking and play melodically. I also use a looper which can add fantastic depth. Finally, I have an amazing-sounding electronic percussion instrument called the Handsonic which, when coupled with the looper, gives us the ability to easily add drums or percussion for time-keeping. As you can see, the possibilities are endless, and the only thing missing for me is… you. If this sounds like something you might be interested in please reach out, tell me about yourself, send me some samples of your playing. Excited to hear from you and begin a new journey.
