Found Chocolate lab

My dad found a very large Chocolate lab wandering around next door to our our house. He's been the only only one able to get close to him at all because he appears to be injured, and was extremely hungry and thirsty when he found him. We don't know how severe his injuries are, but we've been taking care of him as best as we can. We've been feeding him and giving him water everyday, as well as doing our best to provide him shelter (which is difficult considering he still doesn't completely trust us yet); and he seems to be improving. However, we'd really like to find his family. We have no idea where he came from. He's most definitely an older dog judging by his greying fur, especially on the snout, and his probable hearing loss. He's also not wearing a collar. We assume his owners live on Highway 117 South, where we found him wandering, but really, he could have come from anywhere.
