Compensation: $35-$50/hr depending on experience Employment type: part-time Description: We are looking for a Band Coach who can lead rehearsals and prep a band of students (aged roughly 10 and up) to perform. instruments: Drum kit, Bass, Rhythm and Lead Guitar, and Vocals. Coaches are expected to notate for each instrument on TAB (except vocals). Student bands perform well known covers. Coaches are expected to arrange the songs for each student tailored to their ability/experience. (We will offer training). Tritone Music Academy is a prolific after school music education program contracted by numerous public school districts across the southland. “Project Rock Band” is the full-band-experience arm of the company that puts our best and most experienced students in full bands. Bands rehearse in Fullerton, typically 2x/month. Rehearsals are 2 hours each. All equipment is provided. Necessary skills: Enjoy working with and have good communication skills with children ages 10 and up. Experience leading a band with similar rock instrumentation. Solo projects, cover bands, passion projects... lots of acceptable experience. A limited ability to teach drums, bass, guitar, and vocals (ideally someone with lots of experience teaching one of the instruments). Be punctual and have a reliable means of transportation. Several years of formal education in music proficient in reading music notation and TAB. Proximity to Fullerton is necessary. Be able to pass a background check. Be fully vaccinated and boosted. Preferred skills: Professional experience working with kids aged 6-9. Experience with classroom management is a big plus. Experience coaching a student on vocals Strong theory knowledge: Ability to transpose keys for multiple instruments on the spot. Ability to read in staff notation. Experience teaching kids in a group setting Confidence singing in front of kids. Telekinesis Please note: If hired for the position, Applicants will be required to pay for a background check.
