Description
Stella is missing. She is an indoor/outdoor cat living in Edmonds at 228th and 96th. She disappeared on the 22nd of June; our family is heartbroken and I feel totally paralyzed with how sad I am about losing this girl. She is microchipped and is wearing two collars (no tag). She was rescued in Arlington on the freeway in 2009 and has been an important member of the family ever since.
She patrols the culdesac often, but is usually back quickly - not often she is gone longer than a couple of hours. We've made posters, and thoroughly combed the sheds, garages, trees and bushes of all 8 of our neighbors.
I've started searching aggressively to adjacent neighborhoods in case she was scared off and hiding somewhere, but have turned up nothing. I'm finding no trace of her; no fur or collar. I've shined flashlights in bushes and trees to try and find eyeshine but no luck. I ordered a really nice 12x set of binoculars to search even higher up in trees, but most of them are so dense that it's hard to get a good look regardless. I spent the last two days going door-to-door and handing out flyers with interviews to the 50 closest houses to us by radius.
At this point, I believe she may have been taken in by someone and in a house somewhere. Of all of the people in the neighborhood I spoke with, a handful had cats killed by predators and all of them found a body. I believe Stella is still alive out there somewhere.
My 8-year-old and I have been searching extensively. I told her last night "We can't give up on Stella, because Stella would never give up on us," and now my daughter is repeating that line.
We're totally stuck, please help.
