Description
I’d like to posit a theory for a new band -
1. Not locked in with labels
2. Not driven by egos
3. A place for people who want to keep learning
4. A place that respects creativity and trying and failing
5. A place for fun, respect, expanding ideas and expression.
6. A place for people - any people
7. A place to grow
We could be grounded in songs, styles, likes, proclivities and aspirations but not limitations.
No particular goals as to performing out - maybe just for friends and family, maybe we rent our own place and put on a show, maybe our rehearsals are the show and we invite people to watch and join.
We could encompass folk, rock, blues, jazz, jam, and experimentation. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t need to keep playing the same songs, but need to grow, learn and change musically.
I welcome comments, questions and others interested in the journey as much as the product.
I especially like a variety of rhythms and percussion and dance music from around the world.
I’d like to play and create music with people who can invent a great chord pattern, rhythm or riff on the spot and then work on it and collaborate on making it great.
I’d like to have people who are interested in listening and working on lyrics and don’t judge anything at first glance or listen. Everything is a work in progress.
I know this sounds like I am a new age mad man but I am anything but. I play acoustic and electric, bass, guitar and mandolin, Fender, Gibson and Mesa Boogie and like it loud!
