Central Street Evanston is hosting "Wellness Wednesdays" a new series of free fitness classes in Independence Park provided by the fitness and wellness studios on Central Street! Please bring a yoga or Pilates mat, a small hand towel for head support and a 2nd small towel to roll up to place between the knees. Bring water for class. *Blended Health & Smoothie Bar Evanston is offering a 20% discount and $3 wellness shots for class participants. Stop by 2002 Central to redeem and mention "Wellness Wednesdays!" Join Donna Parise Byrne from Pilates Central Wellness for a Pilates mat class in the park! All levels are welcome to experience the benefits of the Pilates mat exercises. During class we will focus on proper breath, postural repositioning techniques (PRI) and movement with purpose and intention. - You will need- a yoga or Pilates mat, a small hand towel for head support and a 2nd small towel to roll up to place between the knees. - Dress for movement and you will need to be comfortable lying your back, on your sides and hands and knees. At Pilates Central Wellness we provide a unique experience integrating the mind body conditioning concepts of Joseph Pilates with modern theories of physical therapy, namely Postural Restoration Institute. Owner Donna Parise Byrne, PT, OCS, PRC and the Pilates Central Wellness Instructors are well trained and passionate about teaching these methods to the community! Please note the following: - Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class to get set up. - Participants are required to sign a health waiver upon arrival. These will be provided by Central Street Evanston in advance. - This class is limited to 15 participants so please cancel your registration if you cannot attend to allow for others to sign up. - In the event of inclement weather, the class will be cancelled and/or rescheduled for a later date.
