This year's Cross-Cultural Luncheon serves three purposes: First, the need to create conversations that establish community trust and accountability. All citizens must have the believe that their voice matters. This year's theme, "Our Children's Keeper: A Response to youth gun violence," invokes a spirit of collective action. Second, we honor Williamston Police Chief, Tony Taylor, who has dedicated over 35 years of law enforcement service and recognizing the many aspects of serving the public. Third, JII will present the 365LIFE initiative, a cross cultural afrocentric learning and life style model. All proceeds from this luncheon go directly to supporting Justice Intervention Initiative and 365LIFE.
This event is sponsored by Jii,formerly known as Beyond Differences. Jii is a local non-profit organization that works to address and dismantle systemic racism through comprehensive research, intelligence-led investigations, and community-oriented engagement, to find just solutions that will transform systems, structures, and institution.
