19 July, 2022

Description

The July luncheon will be Tuesday, July 19th, 2022. We will begin socializing at 11 am and lunch will be served at 11:30 am. The choices for the luncheon for July will be a Three Scoop Salad Plate (chicken, macaroni and pasta salad) for $15.00. There is an option for a chicken salad sandwich for $14. The speaker for our July luncheon will be Cher Hollar. She is the Chairperson for Carolina Yards, which is a program supported by the Clemson Extension Office. Cher is a Master Gardener and a South Carolina Barbeque Judge. To quote Cher: “I get to experience the best that South Carolina has to offer: Faith, Love, Friends and Food.” Cher was supposed to speak at our May luncheon but had to send a substitute, Karen Campbell. Karen did a fabulous job of filling in and did not present the Carolina Yards program. Our charity for July is to sponsor the school supplies needed for the year for a needy child. Please select a grade and put together a packet of the supplies needed for that child. Please buy high quality items. I had a teacher share that cheaper supplies don’t function properly and the child is very frustrated when their pencils, glue sticks, etc. don’t work. Please bring the items to the July meeting and we will see to delivering them to the school. If you feel so inclined, you can donate an age appropriate backpack to deliver your supplies in. The purpose of the Newcomers and Community Club of Lexington, SC is to extend a welcoming hand to both newcomers and existing residents of the Lexington area and to promote good fellowship within the community through social as well as charitable activities. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, develop lasting friendships and give back to the community in which we live. This club is designed for adults age 18 and up. To attend, please RSVP by the Friday before the event by clicking the link below to register. There is an option to pay $5 if you prefer to bring your own lunch. Click here for the club contact!
