Description
Annual Gathering 2022: Coming Together At The Well: Renewal Through Exploring the Five Life Standards A weekend of refreshment, fellowship, worship, and deep conversations with your fellow Anabaptist healthcare providers in the beautiful wooded setting of MCC's The Welcoming Place! [Schedule Coming Soon] The weekend will include a mix of Plenary sessions, Worship, times for circle process and deep discussion of the Five Life Standards, times for rest and. renewal activities, wonderful meals and snacks, and the fellowship of likeminded Anabaptist and Mennonite healthcare providers to "journey with" one another in our collective calling to health and healthcare. Keynote Speaker: Malinda Berry Ph.D wrote her dissertation on The Five Life Standards as an Anabaptist peace theology and has been an active participant in MHF's Five Life Standards Nurture Council. The proposed Five Life Standards we will be discussing and exploring are: 1. Do justice for the health and well-being of all 2. Learn from the world’s health wisdom and communities 3. Nurture all people’s health and well-being 4. Cherish the natural order for healthy bodies and the earth 5. Nonconform freely to serve, care and live as Jesus taught More about Malinda: Dr. Malinda Elizabeth Berry is both a theologian and a teacher: she’s passionate about the subject matter of her courses and believes that the content of a course should shape how it is taught. Her commitment to Anabaptism in the Mennonite tradition is evident in her approach to an array of topics, issues, and concerns of our day: Christian social responsibility, environmental stewardship—with an emphasis on human ecology, and renewing congregational life in its structural and spiritual dimensions. More about MCC's Welcoming Place: MCC's Welcoming Place is designed to represent an international village and reflect the homes, schools and churches of MCC’s partner organizations around the world.
