We're looking for employees at the Santa Maria Air Tanker Base. We’re a private contractor with the Forest Service and our company loads the firefighting aircraft with fire retardant. It's an exciting job and you’ll be working around planes and great people. All while being a vital part of wildland fire support. Help protect your local forests and communities! We have part time positions and call when needed positions. Longer term and travel positions could be available in the future depending on experience and performance. We'll train you, and no firefighting experience is necessary. If you’re interested in the firefighting or aviation industries, this is a great first step and a place to meet people. Ability to lift 50 pounds is required. Must be over 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma. We are a safe and drug free workplace. Starting pay is $15.25/ hour + $4.54/ hour benefits, for a total of $19.54 per regular hour. Overtime pay is time and a half, at $22.88 per hour. This assignment is at the Santa Maria Airport, though we do have other operations throughout the state.
